In 1977 a woman in South Dakota was hospitalized three times in one year, and the medication her doctors prescribed never quite worked. The problem was not her illness. It was her well. What she did after that discovery became a family business, and it is still the reason we do this work today.
The Well That Started This Company in 1977
She went to the hospital three separate times before anyone thought to look past her symptoms. The antibiotics helped briefly, then stopped, because every glass of water she drank at home reintroduced the bacteria her doctors were treating. Nobody had tested the well. When someone finally did, the answer had been sitting in her kitchen faucet the entire time, invisible and free to take.
Why She Started Selling
She did not set out to build a company. She set out to make sure that nobody else in her community spent a year sick from something a simple test would have caught. She started selling treatment systems to neighbors, then to their neighbors, and the work grew the way honest work tends to grow in a small state.
Her grandson, Wesley Halling, owns that company today and runs it alongside his wife Alissa and their son Landon. Three generations now, doing the same job for the same reason. When you call us, you are not reaching a call center. You are reaching a family whose own story began with contaminated water.
We are built on faith, on family, and on a conviction that is simpler than any sales pitch: every homeowner deserves water that is clean, safe, and soft. Not the homeowners who can afford the largest system. Every one of them. That belief is older than this company and it outranks every quota in it.
What We Promise Every Homeowner
A promise is only worth what it costs to keep. These are the four we have kept since 1977, and the ones we expect our customers to hold us to:
- Test Before We Sell: We will not quote a system until we know what is actually in your water, because guessing is how families get oversold.
- Tell You the Truth: If you do not need equipment, we will say so, and we will tell you plainly what our systems do not fix.
- Answer the Phone: A family name is on this business, which means there is always someone accountable when something goes wrong.
- Stand Behind the Work: We size, install, and service the system ourselves, and we do not disappear once the invoice has cleared.
Why We Measure Success in Decades
Most companies consider a job finished the day the truck pulls out of the driveway. We do not. The real measure comes ten years later, when the system is still running quietly in the basement, the water is still soft, the drinking water is still clean, and the homeowner has genuinely stopped thinking about it. That is the goal. Not a sale, not a signature, but a decade of a family never once having to wonder whether their water is safe.
That standard costs us something. It means slower installs, harder conversations, and turning down work we could have taken. It also means our customers send their neighbors, their parents, and eventually their children, which is the only marketing a family business has ever truly needed. A woman got sick in 1977 and decided nobody else should. Three generations later we are still keeping that promise, one home and one well at a time.
